1. About this policy

Alpha Communication Services Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is an Australian telecommunications infrastructure and field engineering business. We are committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information we hold.

This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, and how you can access, correct or complain about our handling of it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What personal information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on your dealings with us. It may include:

  • Name, job title and the organisation you represent
  • Contact details, including email address, phone number and postal or site address
  • Information you provide through our contact form, newsletter sign-up or by email
  • Project and site information, including access details, site records and job documentation
  • Records of work performed, including photographs, test results and site reports (which may incidentally include images of people on site)
  • Recruitment information, such as your résumé, work history, licences, tickets and certifications, where you apply to work with us
  • Technical information about your visit to our website, including IP address, browser type and pages viewed

We do not seek to collect sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for our functions (for example, work health and safety records or licence details for field personnel) and you have consented, or the collection is otherwise permitted by law.

3. How we collect personal information

Wherever it is reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information directly from you — for example, when you contact us, submit an enquiry or newsletter form, engage our services, work on a project with us, or apply for a role.

We may also collect personal information from third parties, such as carriers, prime contractors, principal contractors or your employer, where this is necessary to deliver a project or meet site access and compliance requirements.

4. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information

We collect and use personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide quotes
  • Deliver, manage and document our telecommunications and field engineering services
  • Meet work health and safety, site access, vendor prequalification and other compliance obligations
  • Manage our relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Process invoicing, payments and account administration
  • Assess applications for employment or engagement
  • Send you newsletters or updates you have requested (you may unsubscribe at any time)
  • Improve our website and services
  • Comply with our legal obligations

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Our employees, contractors and field personnel who need it to perform their duties
  • Carriers, prime contractors and asset owners, where required to deliver or document a project
  • Our professional advisers, insurers and service providers (including IT, hosting, email and form-handling providers)
  • Government agencies, regulators or law enforcement, where required or authorised by law

We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for the purpose of allowing others to direct-market to you.

5. Direct marketing

If you subscribe to our newsletter or provide your details in the course of business, we may send you information about our services. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us at enoch@alphatelecom.com.au.

6. Website, cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly and to understand how it is used. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies, although some parts of the site may not function properly if you do.

Forms on this website are processed by third-party form-handling services, and the information you submit is transmitted through those services in order to reach us.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of the third-party service providers we use — such as website hosting, email, cloud storage and form-handling providers — may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. How we hold and protect personal information

We hold personal information in both electronic and (where relevant) paper form. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls, secure devices and accounts, and restricting access to those who need it.

We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law or contract. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.

9. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Please contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period, and will let you know in writing if we are unable to give access or make a correction, along with our reasons.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or otherwise mishandled your personal information, please contact us at enoch@alphatelecom.com.au or +61 410 107 879. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it promptly.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
